plusX donation platform
In 2020, I volunteered for the social start-up plusX. plusX aims to ensure that everyone can spend their free time actively and freely through activity donations. With donations, plusX provides recipients with leisure vouchers for museums, the climbing gym or sewing courses, for example. The vouchers are booked via the platform and redeemed with the leisure partners.

Consulting
As a first step, the plusX founders and I analyzed the current situation and the old platform and drew up a plan for the next steps.
User analysis
n the second step, it was important for me to find out who the users are and what their requirements, motivations and needs are.
Primary usage view:
Donors and recipients primarily use the site via smartphone to have quick access on the go.
Partners primarily use the dashboard to manage tickets and access the platform via the desktop view.
The platform was to be used by three different target groups:
Donors should be motivated to donate activities to disadvantaged people.
Recipients should be able to register, identify themselves as a disadvantaged person and use the activities.
First and foremost, partners need a dashboard for managing and uploading donated activities.
Competitor analysis
As the donation platform is unique with this type of donation, there was only indirect competition.
These included large donation platforms such as Oxfam, WWF and Greenpeace, but also a few smaller organizations that are active regionally.


UX design
Together with the team, we worked out the action sequences and the structure of the individual pages.
With user flows and wireframes, I was able to plan and implement the platform precisely.

Since the founder Felix Meuer programmed the site himself, corrections, approvals and the transfer of designs were quick and easy.
Conclusion
With friendly colors, emotional images and a simple and clear user guidance, the platform manages to build trust, inform and motivate to donate and receive great activities.
plusX has now won over many partners, donors and recipients in the Cologne area and continues to grow steadily.
